Nato spontaneamente negli anni ’80 dalla volontà delle aziende del settore, il Fuorisalone è ormai diventato un evento a sé stante ed immancabile durante la settimana del design a Milano, espandendosi anche a settori affini quali tecnologia, telecomunicazioni, arte, moda e food. In questa edizione settembrina straordinaria diretta da Boeri il tema proposto è “Forme dell’Abitare”, dove per abitare si intende vivere luoghi, spazi, città, ambienti e le relazioni che si creano interagendo con essi, concetti fulcro del periodo di pandemia che stiamo attraversando globalmente, che ha stravolto regole ed abitudini anche nel modo di vivere casa propria. 

Triennale

In Triennale il Museo del Design Italiano ha organizzato una mostra che racconta il rapporto tra Salone del Mobile e Milano e, in contemporanea, debutta la mostra dedicata a Carlo Mollino, figura fondamentale nell’architettura e nel design italiano. 

Brera 

Nel quartiere di Brera, ai giardini dell’orto botanico, l’installazione di Carlo Ratti per ENI “Natural Capital” indaga sul rapporto simbiotico tra piante e ambiente, produzione d’ossigeno e consumo di Co2, mentre in via della Spiga 26, l’Audi City Lab ospiterà  Enlightening the future, progetto curato da Marcel Wanders studio, che si pone come un’esperienza immersiva basata sulla luce come strumento di connessione.

Porta Venezia

Da vedere è BE WATER un’installazione di sole immagini site specific, ospitata presso la piscina comunale Cozzi, che porta la firma di Maurizio Cattelan e del fotografo Pierpaolo Ferrari. La Casa Museo Boschi  in zona Buenos Aires ospita invece la mostra SONO TAZZA DI TE!, una collezione di oltre 80 tazze firmate da altrettante progettiste.

Museo della Scienza

Al museo della scienza e della tecnologia sarà opsiptata la terza edizione di RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, un progetto internazionale curato da Rossana Orlandi dedicato al tema del re-Waste per portare l’attenzione su un nuovo stile di vita sostenibile e responsabile.

Isola design district 

In questa edizione il quartiere Isola si presenta alla settimana del design milanese in una nuova location, la Fabbrica Sassetti nell’omonima via, un’ex fabbrica di filati in lana risalente agli anni 30 nella quale sono previste due mostre, The stage Four, un’installazione onirica che coinvolge gli spettatori in un tripudio di colori e forme e Isola Design Gallery, l’esposizione del progetto di design sostenibile portato avanti da Isola Design Community con Temporary store dedicato.

Via Tortona

Superstudio presenta Superdesign Show 2021, una serie di mostre con lo sguardo rivolto al futuro e, in contemporanea, l’inaugurazione del Museo Lucchini e l’apertura del terzo nuovo spazio con Design Beyond Design, programma di inaugurazione che si svolgerà nelle cinque giornate con attivita’ multidisciplinari legate al design e non solo. 

Palazzo Litta

Il cortile di questo palazzo settecentesco si trasformerà per una settimana nella reinterpretazione dello studio Aires Mateus di Una spiaggia nel Barocco, avviando una riflessione tra arte e design.

In this extraordinary September edition directed by Boeri, the proposed theme is “Forme dell’Abitare”, where by inhabiting we mean living places, spaces, cities, environments and the relationships that are created by interacting with them, key concepts of the pandemic period we are currently experiencing globally, which has upset rules and habits even in the way of living at home.

Triennale

In the Triennale, the Museum of Italian Design has organized an exhibition that tells the relationship between the Salone del Mobile e Milano and, at the same time, debuted the exhibition dedicated to Carlo Mollino, fundamental figure in Italian architecture and design.

Brera

In the Brera district, in the botanical gardens, the installation by Carlo Ratti for ENI “Natural Capital” investigates the symbiotic relationship between plants and the environment, oxygen production and Co2 consumption, while in via della Spiga 26, the Audi City Lab will host Enlightening the future, a project curated by Marcel Wanders studio, which stands as an immersive experience based on light as a connection tool.

Porta Venezia

Must see is BE WATER, an installation of site-specific images, only hosted at the Cozzi municipal swimming pool, which bears the signature of Maurizio Cattelan and photographer Pierpaolo Ferrari. The Casa Museo Boschi in the Buenos Aires area hosts the exhibition SONO TAZZA DI TE!, a collection of over 80 cups signed by as many designers.

Museo della Scienza

The museum of science and technology hosts the third edition of RoGUILTLESSPLASTIC, an international project curated by Rossana Orlandi dedicated the the theme of re-Waste to bring attention to a new sustainable and responsible lifestyle.

Isola design district

In this edition the Isola district presents itself at Milan design week at a new location, the Sassetti Factory on the homonymous street, an former wool yarn factory dating back to the 1930s in which two exhibitions are planned, The stage Four, a dream installation that involves the spectators in a riot of colors and shapes and Isola Design Community with a dedicated temporary store.

Via Tortona

Superstudio presents Superdesign Show 2021, a series of exhibitions with an eye to the future and, at the same time, the inauguration of the Lucchini Museum and the opening of the third new space with Design Beyond Design, an inauguration program that will take place over five days with multidisciplinary activities related to design and more.

Palazzo Litta

The courtyard of this eighteenth century building will be transformed for a week in the Aires Mateus studio’s reinterpretation of Una spiaggia nel Barocco, starting a reflection between art and design.
