Originariamente costruito come magazzino per la General Electric, questo spazio era un grande loft aperto, con un bel soffitto a capriate ad arco, finestre in acciaio e molta luce naturale. La natura del lavoro svolto da Joint richiede che ogni redattore abbia la propria “stanza”, ma voleva anche uno spazio abitativo condiviso in cui riunirsi, fare brainstorming e stare insieme. Gli architetti di Vallaster Corl per rispondere alla loro richiesta di spazio sia pubblico che privato, hanno creato un bordo di uffici privati sul perimetro della stanza, mentre due stanze comuni occupano lo spazio ai bordi e, provviste di soppalchi comunicano tra loro grazie a un ponte. Lo spazio al centro è la “grande sala” pubblica che funge da cucina, soggiorno e sala da pranzo. Nonostante le necessarie divisioni, lo spazio mantiene una sensazione di apertura e di luce. I materiali semplici risaltano l’architettura, sia esistente che nuova, e l’arredamento crea una sensazione di comfort, di accoglienza e di casualità che riflette l’identità della Joint Editorial in un  mix  perfetto tra linee pulite e moderne e la spigolosità del legno grezzo.

Originally constructed as a warehouse for General Electric, this space was a large open loft, with a beautiful arched trussed ceiling, steel windows and lots of natural light. The nature of the work done by Joint requires that every editor has their own “room” but also would want a shared living space in which to gather, to brainstorm and be together. The architects of Vallaster Corl to respond to the request that space might be both public and private, have created a border of private offices on the perimeter of the room, while two common rooms occupy the space at the edges and, equipped with mezzanines, communicate with each other thanks to a bridge. The space in the center is the “great room” which is public and serves as the kitchen, lounge and dining room. Despite the necessary divisions, the space maintains a sensation of openness and light. The simple materials highlight the architecture, both existing and new, and the furnishing creates a sensation of comfort, of welcoming and of casualness that reflects the identity of Joint Editorial in a perfect mix of clean and modern lines and the angularity of raw wood.
