Nel quartiere di Valencia El Cabanyal la designer Patricia Peña ha deciso di comprare e ristrutturare un’antica casa di pescatori, non una rarità in questa zona lungo la spiaggia della città, ora è un’area con un fascino speciale, poiché è formata per lo più da case con facciate rustiche e mosaici multicolori con porte tradizionali in legno e ferro.  La struttura delle travi in ​​legno è stata preservata così come il muro di mattoni alle pareti; il concetto architettonico e decorativo scelto da Patricia è un misto di ispirazioni: da un lato lo stile industriale, che si può osservare nell’altezza dei soffitti, gli spazi aperti, il pavimento in cemento, le ringhiere in ferro battuto, la cucina e l’impianto di condizionamento a vista. D’altra parte lo stile minimalista nordico, visibile nelle finestre e in alcuni pezzi di arredamento come il divano, ma anche lo stile rustico, in omaggio all’essenza del quartiere e del giardino valenciano, che si riflette in elementi come le travi, le vecchie porte in legno e il pavimento a mosaico del bagno. Insomma, una casa di pescatori ristrutturata all’altezza e in consonanza con un quartiere storico e felicemente rinnovato per Valencia come El Cabanyal.

In the Valencia neighborhood of El Cabanyal, the designer Patricia Peña decided to buy and renovate an old fisherman’s house, which is not a rarity in this area along the beach of the city. Now it’s an area with a special charm because of the houses with rustic facades and multicolored mosaics with traditional wooden and iron doors. The structure of the wooden beams has been preserved, as well as the brick on the walls. The architectural and decorative concept chosen by Patricia is a mix of inspirations. On one hand there is the industrial style, which can be seen in the height of the ceilings, the open spaces, the concrete floor, the wrought iron railings, the kitchen, and the exposed air conditioning system. On the other hand, there’s the Nordic minimalist style, which can be seen in the windows and in some pieces of furniture such as the sofa.  There’s also the rustic style, in homage to the essence of the neighborhood and the Valencian garden, which is reflected in elements such as the beams, the old wooden doors, and the mosaic floor in the bathroom. In short, here we have a fisherman’s house that has been happily renovated in harmony with the historic district of El Cabanyal in Valencia.
