Passeggiando in giro per Milano, anche senza voler cercare qualcosa del Fuorisalone, inevitabilmente incapperemmo in qualcosa di interessante o curioso. Noi questa settimana non ci siamo fermati un attimo e vogliamo condividere il più possibile di tutta l’infinità di idee che abbiamo incontrato nel nostro percorso.

Partiamo da Ventura Centrale, dove esattamente sotto i binari della stazione, nei vari hangar vuoti, sono state allestite numerevose installazioni, da quelle luminose, a quelle interattive, quelle di grande classe e quelle ipnotiche. Tra queste noi abbiamo scelto di farci ispirare da Weltevree, un gruppo Olandese, che ha dato spazio a nomi come Joep van Lieshout, Thor ter Kulve e Tom fereday, per poter esporre le loro idee per un look da bordo piscina di design.  Abbiamo qua sotto la poltrona Flying Dishman, creata da Joep van Lieshout, in plastica riciclata a cui è stata data nuova vita in questo enorme disco dove sdraiarsi dopo un tuffo, o ancora abbiamo Carrier di Thor ter Kulve, un bellissimo sgabello da esterno che a primo impatto sembra essere molto pesante data la lastra in granito, ma è in realtà anch’essa plastica riciclata quindi molto leggera e utile per le attività all’aperto.

Walking around Milan, without even seeking something from the Fuorisalone, we inevitably run into many interesting things. This week we did not stop for a moment and we want to share as many of the ideas we have encountered on our journey as possible.

We start from Ventura Centrale, right under the station tracks, where numerous installations have been set up, in the various empty hangars, from bright ones, to interactive ones, large class ones, and hypnotic ones. Among these we have chosen to be inspired by Weltevree, a Dutch group, which has given space to names like Joep van Lieshout, Thor ter Kulve and Tom fereday, in order to expose their ideas for a designer poolside look. Pictured below we have the Flying Dishman armchair, created by Joep van Lieshout and made from recycled plastic that has been given a new life in the form of this huge disk where we can lie down after a dip in the pool.  We also have Carrier by Thor ter Kulve, a beautiful outdoor stool that, at first impact, seems to be very heavy given the granite slab; however, it is actually also made from recycled plastic and therefore very light and useful for outdoor activities.

In un altro hangar abbiamo scoperto POETIC GEOMETRY, un’installazione dove si celebrano i lavori di maestri Brasiliani quali Geraldo de Barros, Lina Bo Bard e Sergio Bernardes. Un insieme di leggerezza, visibilità, molteplicità e consistenze. Tra i lavori troviamo Rampa, una poltrona dal design molto lineare e accattivante, dotata di molle ed elastici, questa sedia si adatta al nostro corpo come abbracciandoci, o ancora una bellissima credenza dalle linee pulite, in metallo e legno, creata da Geraldo de Barros. E le più simpatiche, forse per il nome, sono le Girafa chairs, di Lina bo Bard, che richiamano la postura delle giraffe.

In another hangar, we have discovered POETIC GEOMETRY, an installation where the works of Brazilian masters such as Geraldo de Barros, Lina Bo Bard and Sergio Bernardes are celebrated. A combination of lightness, visibility, multiplicity and consistency. Among the works we find Rampa, an armchair with a very linear and captivating design, equipped with springs and elastic bands, this chair adapts to our body as if it were embracing us. We also find a beautiful cabinet with clean lines, made of both metal and wood, created by Geraldo de Barros . And the nicest, perhaps because of the name, are the Girafa chairs, by Lina bo Bard, which remind us of the posture of a giraffe.

Altro oggetto interessante incontrato lungo il cammino è questa lampada modulare. Si presenta come fosse un filo della biancheria su cui sono stesi dei fogli trasparenti colorati, con annessa molletta. Presentata da Bakalowits light design, si chiama appunto Laundry light, e noi troviamo potrebbe essere un’idea perfetta per decorare una bella lavanderia a cui serve aggiungere un po’ di luce. Con i pannelli in acrilico trasparente di diverse dimensioni e colori possiamo sbizzarrirci a trovare le giuste combinazioni per adattarla a casa nostra.

Another interesting object encountered along the way is this modular lamp. It looks like a clothesline, on which some transparent, colored sheets are spread and attached by a clothespin. Presented by Bakalowits light design, it is called Laundry light, and we find it could be the perfect idea to decorate a beautiful laundry room that could use the addition of a little bit of light. With transparent acrylic panels of different sizes and colors, we can indulge ourselves in finding the right combinations for our own homes.

Un occhi di riguardo in questo Fuorisalone va anche alla sostenibilità e all’abitare del futuro. Passando dall’accademia di Brera e dal castello Sforzesco abbiamo incontrato questa costruzione modulare in legno che si comporta quasi come un grande gioco per adulti in cui montare i pezzi a seconda delle necessità, e per i più raffinati, in Cairoli abbiamo scovato questa struttura che ci permette di goderci il Glamping tutto l’anno senza preoccuparci di dove andare, come fosse una vera casa, questa tenda per Glamping ci terrà vicino al mare 365 giorni l’anno.

An eye of respect in this Fuorisalone also goes to sustainability and the living of the future. Moving on from the Brera academy and the Sforzesco castle, we encountered this modular wooden construction that can be compared to a giant puzzle for adults, in which one must assemble the pieces according to need. For the more refined, in Cairoli we found this structure that allows us to enjoy glamping all year round, without worrying about where to go. Like a real home, this glamping tent will keep us close to the sea 365 days a year.

We close this article with a beautiful Brazilian exhibit by Vivian Coser that brings her nation to Milan in the form of valuable stones, and marble in all shapes, designs, and colors. Brazilian stonescape kills two birds with one stone, demonstrating the variety of raw materials from Brazil and bringing us a sinuous design with these low marble tables from the Botanique Collection by Sette7 studio.

A lot of innovation and brilliant minds at work. This is the Fuorisalone.
