Immerso tra ulivi centenari, vicino al villaggio di Oumes, Berber Lodge è un piccolo Hotel di nove stanze, progettato per ricreare l’atmosfera di un villaggio berbero. A soli venti minuti di auto da Marrakech e vicino al lago Takerkoust, l’Hotel è situato in una  una location ideale per scoprire la straordinaria natura del Marocco: I molti ettari di terreno che circondano il lodge includono antichi giardini, con ulivi centenari e sentieri tranquilli accanto ai nuovi orti biologici e vegetali. La grande piscina è perfetta per rinfrescarsi dal caldo torrido del deserto marocchino.

Nella realizzazione degli edifici sono state utilizzate Le tradizionali tecniche costruttive berbere, mattoni di terra, travi di legno di palma ed eucalipto, il tutto combinato con gusto più contemporaneo ad un arredamento country chic, con tessuti in materiali naturali, arredi in rattan e pezzi  vintage provenienti dal Marocco e dall’estero. Non perdetevi i bagni realizzati in tadelakt (il tipico rivestimento murale marocchino a base di calce brillante e impermeabile) e marmo, che aggiungono il necessario lusso.

L’effetto complessivo è sobrio, ma elegante; contemporaneo, ma casual e semplice in un modo davvero sofisticato.

Nestled among century-old olive trees near the village of Oumes, Berber Lodge is a small, nine-room hotel designed to recreate the atmosphere of a Berber village. Just twenty minutes from Marrakech by car and close to Takerkoust Lake, the hotel is situated in the ideal location for discovering Morocco’s extraordinary nature: the many acres of land surrounding the lodge include ancient gardens with century-old olive trees and quiet paths next to new organic vegetable gardens. The large swimming pool is perfect for cooling off from the scorching heat of the Moroccan desert.

During the construction of the buildings, traditional Berber building techniques, earthen bricks, and palm and eucalyptus beams were used—then in contemporary style, these were all combined with country chic décor, with fabrics made of natural materials, with rattan furniture and with vintage pieces from Morocco and abroad. Don’t miss the bathrooms that were made with tadelakt (the typical Moroccan wall covering made of bright and waterproof lime) and with marble, which add needed luxury.

The overall effect is simple but elegant; contemporary but casual and simple in a truly sophisticated way.
